 Summary Description

Under the supervision of a Prefab Manager, plans, directs and works within the Virtual Design team with a focus on effective and constructible plans prior to entering the production phase of the Pre-Fab process.  Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential:

 

  • Effectively evaluates and manages opportunities designed within the Virtual Construction Team. 
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates within Design, Pre-Fab, Project Management and field supervisor teams to achieve desirable outcomes for the Project Team.
  • Assists in evaluating personnel in order to maximize career development for employees including giving feedback for performance evaluations.
  • Creating “real world” solutions to Project Team requirements and communicating with entire team to achieve desirable results.
  • Works from construction drawings (i.e., electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.)
  • Completes prefabrication assembly orders accurately and on time.
  • Attends project turnover meetings, as needed.
  • Responsible for quality control of design. No damaged product is sent out.
  • Adhere to all Processes within Virtual Construction and Prefabrication.
  • Safeguards and maintains Company equipment, material, tools and vehicles.

Job Requirements

Skills/Education:

  • High school education or equivalency; post high school education desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction at Senior Journeyperson level or above.
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply construction drawings, specifications and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Electrical construction. 
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate with people in a professional, constructive manner.
  • Ability to organize and administer multiple job functions with great attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to High level computer literacy including word processing, working with and creating spreadsheets, processing emails and data entry.
  • CAD, AutoCAD and Revit experience is desirable but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical trade and applicable building and electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal with other construction trades.
  • Must be confident, decisive, self-motivated. 
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location/office.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally to jobsites as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Working 40+ hours/week, scheduled in 8 to 10-hour shifts.
  • Standing 4 to 6 hours/day.
  • Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders in limited intervals.
  • Twisting (180 degrees ) and walking 2 to 4 hours/day.
  • Squatting and sitting 4-8 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 35 lbs. at the following frequencies:  continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs. Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder.
  • Repetitive use of hands as it relates to computer use. 
  • Repetitive use of feet is required for walking.
  • Vision adequate for blueprint reading and color coding.
  • Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and potentially explosive hazards.
  • Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task.
