Summary Description

Supervises the day to day field operations and activities of Electrical Service.  Ensures safety measures are being taken at every level and ensures all completed work is completed with the upmost in craftsmanship.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with business unit manager on identifying areas of added efficiency in our operational and customer service procedures.
  • Conducts timely and accurate performance appraisals of all assigned service personnel.
  • Ensures all project related materials are procured in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in preparing revenue forecasting and cost reports as required.
  • Conducts scheduling of all service related staff.
  • Works closely with our electrical construction project managers on identifying new service candidates to continue to grow our service operation.
  • Conducts project meetings as needed and prepares estimates, proposals for any and all new work.
  • Ensures all service work orders are completed in a timely and profitable manner.
  • Ensures all service technicians are properly tooled and trained in the latest technologies.
  • Serves as a mentor to field staff and assists with in-depth problem resolution.
  • Ensures service material stock levels are adequate and meet our service requirements.
  • Provides 24-hour service availability and remote support as needed.

Job Qualifications

Skills & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the electrical trades industry. Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a leadership role a plus. 
  • Elevated knowledge of NEC and Nfpa70.
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and works well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communicating ability.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). 
  • Well organized, with a strong emphasis on attention to details. 
  • Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Working a minimum of 40+ hours/week shifts.
  • Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 50 lbs.; frequently 0 to 35 lbs. and infrequently above 35 lbs.; sizes and shapes of objects vary from conduit to large panel covers.
  • Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder.
  • Repetitive use of hands includes keyboarding, occasional grasping of hand tools and fine motor coordination for electrical installations.
  • Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading.
  • Balance adequate for occasional climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
  • Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0F to 100F; up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
  • Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
  • Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection.
